The Continental UltraContact is a summer touring tyre designed for long tread life for passenger cars and crossovers. It uses YellowChili, Continental's latest generation of tread compound, which employs a polymer network and abrasion resistant additives for low rolling resistance and reduction in tyre wear. UltraShield Construction protects the tread layers from impacts and poor road conditions. Noise Breakers 3.0 is an innovative solution that provides noise reduction by breaking and dissipating the air pulses that form when the tyre is in motion.

The UltraContact was added into Continental's European summer tyre offerings in 2022 as a dedicated long mileage tyre. Continental claims their mileage improvements and noise reduction enhancements for the UltraContact line are 50% and 15% when compared to their past generation of tyre. For a winter and summer hybrid solution, the AllSeasonContact 2 is Continental's offering and comes with the 3PMSF designation. We have the Continental UltraContact available at Tyres.co.uk.

A good all-round tyre, even in the cold. Gives a more confident steering response than my old Bridgestones. I have had these tyres on the front of my car for 11 months and they have coped well with enthusiastic driving on the alpine roads.

The Goodyear tyres are more expensive than the Continental tyres, which is why I chose the Continentals. As someone who drives quickly, I notice more lateral movement in the sidewalls and the wet traction is not as good as the Goodyear tyres. There is more instability and edginess in the car, which makes me less confident when I have to really push the car through the tight corners and bends.
