The Continental Premium Contact 2 summer tyre has short wet and dry braking distances thanks to its asymmetric tread pattern. These tyres feature Continental's 3D-Groove technology. Unlike standard grooves, the 3D-Groove technology uses a series of interlocking walls to brace the tread blocks. With an asymmetric design, the Bionic Contour groove shape changes under braking, which helps drive water out of the grooves and reduces aquaplaning.

The SSR version has the same inner construction as the Premium Contact 2, but uses Continental's self-supporting runflat technology. This technology is designed for vehicles equipped with a tyre-pressure monitoring system, after losing tyre pressure the sidewalls will support the weight of the vehicle. Continental claims that with a puncture the tyres can be run for 50 miles at a maximum speed of 50 miles per hour. At Tyres.co.uk, we offer the SSR version of the Continental Premium Contact 2.

Incredible traction and far less noise than the original Bridgestone Turanzas. Built from a softer compound, they have a shorter life span, but the trade-off is absolutely worth it!

I suppose the tyres did well enough. They went through some of the harshest snowy winters we've had, lasting through three years all the way to 2012! I drive about 9,000 miles a year, but I imagine a lot of the tread was worn down fighting the snow during the first year.

The new tyres have greatly enhanced the experience of driving. The old tyres, while still having tread depth legally, were very worn. The new tyres, especially on wet roads, have incredible grip!

Since fitting the tyres, we have had a fair amount of rain and even some snow, and they have been impressive in the way they handle the road. The tyres did seem a little expensive, especially since I had to buy all four, so a small discount would have been appreciated.
