The summer SUV tyre from Continental, the CrossContact RX, is designed as an original-equipment tyre on the Volvo XC90. Its asymmetric road tread features designs that help to minimise cabin noise. Its tread has an innovative design that has grooves running lengthwise on the tread that help to channel and disperse water from the tread road contact patch. The ContiSilent versions have the same inner liner design, but with an additional layer of bonded polyurethane foam. Continental says it helps to reduce cabin noise by as much as 9 dB.

Some sizes feature Volvo’s approval mark, VOL, on the sidewall and indicates that those sizes were made to Volvo's specification and are not just XC90 fit. So, if the replaced tyre has VOL, putting on matching tyres will retain the specification. The Continental CrossContact RX is available on Tyres.co.uk including the ContiSilent versions.
