  • Tick Icon Car
    Car tyre:

Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.

  • Tick Icon Reinforced (XL)
    Extra Load or Reinforced tyres:

A stronger sidewall lets this tyre carry more weight than a standard tyre of the same size. Marked XL on the sidewall.

  • Tick Icon Winter
    Winter tyres:

Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.

Product description & features

The Avon WT7 Snow winter tyre optimally removes snow, slush, and water from the tread for improved performance during winter driving. Its V-shaped, directional tread pattern is designed to channel water and slush out to the sides and incorporates slits in the tread that use a biting edge for improved traction in snow. The 3D sipes provide additional support for the blocks as the tyre shapes itself to snow and water for improved stability. A special silica tread compound provides improved traction at low temperatures.

The Avon WT7 Snow winter tyre has the 3PMSF designation, signifying it meets the requirements for winter conditions and snow-covered road traction, and is also marked M+S. The air flow noise is further minimised by the tread grooves. You can find the Avon WT7 Snow winter tyre here at Tyres.co.uk.

Tyre review for Avon WT7 Snow 185/60R15 88T XL
These tyres performed brilliantly when there was snow on the ground for five weeks and some days having the snow packed tightly up to 150 mm deep.

Tyre review for Avon WT7 Snow 185/60R15 88T XL
They do a particularly good job of aiding grip for hard acceleration and cornering. Even when roads are clear and dry, winter tyres still improve a vehicle's performance.

Tyre review for Avon WT7 Snow 185/60R15 88T XL
Since my daughter will be driving all over Scotland in the cold months, I've made sure that she has winter tyres for extra safety and peace of mind. It's an added peace of mind for me to know she has safer and more reliable tyres. It made the experience particularly hassle free to buy from Tyres.co.uk as I was able to buy and select the tyres online and then even choose a fitting location closer to where she lives now, as she no longer lives at home with us.

I drove in snow and ice conditions during the weekend and encountered snow over the weekend. I am very pleased with how stable the tyres were and I did not experience any sliding.

Tyre review for Avon WT7 Snow 185/60R15 88T XL
Great grip on wet or slippery roads with moss or leaves. These tyres are a little noisier than summer ones, but their grip more than compensates for it.

Tyre review for Avon WT7 Snow 185/60R15 88T XL
Excellent in winter conditions. I am amazed at the traction they provide on ice and snow, making my old, difficult rear wheel drive vehicle reliable in tough weather.

Tyre review for Avon WT7 Snow 185/60R15 88T XL
Great performance with no issues in the snow. Did some sliding on compacted ice going downhill on an untreated road, but under those conditions I'm sure most vehicles would struggle!

Tyre review for Avon WT7 Snow 185/60R15 88T XL
I am changing my Vredestein Snowtrac 3 and Kenda Comet tyres to Avons because winter is coming and the old ones had about 4-5mm left. When I bought the Avons, they were new and had no reviews, but I had experience with the previous version (Ice Touring). So far I've had no issues, my car is quieter now and the wet grip is equal or better to the Vredesteins. The car rolls out better too. I don't have big expectations since I'm driving a Punto 1.2 but the Avons have good dry grip as well. Considering the price, which is the same as the budget options, it makes sense to go for the Avons, as it's a reliable brand.
