31/10.50 R15 is a size classified as imperial off-road. Everything is measured in inches. The classification is slightly different from standard car tyre sizing. In this example, 31 is the overall diameter in inches. 10.50 is the width of the tyre in inches. R15 indicates a radial tyre on a rim of 15 inches. Compared to the standard 30/9.50 R15, this size is an inch taller and wider, which goes beyond the capacity of a standard arch.
