205/55 R15 was the standard tyre size on the E30 325i Sport as well as older family vehicles. This size can be broken down easily. The first part, 205, is the width in mm, while the 55 refers to the aspect ratio, putting the sidewall at 55% of 205mm, or about 113mm. R15 indicates a radial tyre that fits on a 15-inch rim. This gives a tyre an approximate total diameter of 606mm. This is the depth that absorbs shock from the road. We sell 205/55 R15 tyres at Tyres.co.uk in summer, winter, and all-season varieties.

Section width	205	The width of the tyre across the tread, measured in millimetres.

Construction	R	Radial construction, which is what nearly all road tyres use.
