The Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905 is a winter tyre designed with a directional V-shaped tread for improving traction on snow, slush, and rain. The tread pattern assists in exposing fresh edge and surface grip as it displaces slush and water away from the centre and ashy and snow packed edges with jagged bite. The tread also utilises a winter specific, high-density silica compound, which is blended with Yokohama’s orange oil, to sustain performance at lower temperatures.

The sidewall is imprinted with the 3PMSF and M+S symbols. The former denotes certification for performance in severe snowy conditions, while the latter indicates performance in mud and snow. The BluEarth has optimal performance in temperatures at or below 7°C. The rubber compound helps maintain grip performance on cold, dry roads. Tyres.co.uk sells the Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905.

Bought as winter tyres to use during driving in Scotland. The grip, and confidence they give you, is unreal. They are my first winter tyres, and I wish I had got them sooner. As my first set, perhaps all winter tyres perform this well? I would purchase them again, no questions asked.

There exceptional tyres. They're amazing in the rain, and on every road surface they're quiet. We've had a decent amount of snow recently, and they still have phenomenal grip in those conditions.

At the moment these tyres look okay, time will tell if they are just as good as the Vredestein Snowtrac 5s I just replaced. They look to be about the same as the Vredestein tyres. So far they are pretty quiet and have good grip in the wet. I still haven't tried them in the snow or ice, but I expect good performance because they are Yokohama's.

Judging by the brand, I was sceptical about the Yokohama tyres because I hadn't experienced them before, but I must say that they are great. These tyres are fitted with tiny rubber spikes that help with grip. I have a specific junction I visit on an industrial estate with an extremely slippery and wet road surface, and I conduct my tyre tests here because the back end of my car tends to slide a bit. However, with these Yokohama tyres, even when I am aggressive and try to make the car slide, it actually snaps back and continues driving straight. I will certainly buy these again.

These tyres were mounted on my 4x4 Toyota Alphard, and they were tested in the recent heavy snowfalls. Even under the tough conditions, they provided good traction; I managed to reach the highest pub in England. I have no experience with other brands, and so I can't compare them to other competitors.

These tyres show a massive improvement in grip during wet and colder weather. They were great for commuting in the difficult winter conditions. There's a small impact on fuel economy - typically, I get 38-39 mpg in my 2-litre petrol car, but with these tyres, I average 36-37 mpg. However, it is a small trade-off for the improved grip and handling on slush and snow in winter months.

It gets louder in warmer temperatures. It's great for driving on wet roads. Good grip for driving in the snow. They were unbalanced initially right before a major winter drive. Had to pay to have them rebalanced during the trip.
