The Yokohama Advan Sport V105S is an ultra-high-performance summer tyre designed for rapid steering response at high speeds. While the asymmetric tread helps with rapid direction changes, the rigid outer shoulder helps the tyre retain its shape under intense cornering loads. The V105S features Rayon bodied ply that places Rayon cords within the ply that assist in forming the stiffness envelope under braking and acceleration. The V105S features a longitudinal groove that connects angled grooves that assist in the evacuation of water from the contact patch.

The V105 range is the successor of the Advan V103 range. Some versions feature the sidewall marking MO, which is a marking for Mercedes Benz, while some feature the sidewall marking N0, which is a marking for Porsche. The presence of either marking indicates that the tyre was built to specification for that particular manufacturer, so it is recommended that you match these markings when replacing the original tyre. Perfect for my GT86. Excellent grip, both dry and wet. Feels much more stable during heavy rain. They feel a little harder than the Michelin Primacy HP tyres I replaced. That is probably due to the more rigid sidewall and higher load capacity.

Driving 4000 miles, wear on the tread is about 2 mm. It looks like I could get over 12000 miles total, which seems subpar to me.

Unlike the old ones which used to lose grip coming out of the corners, the new back tyres have good grip coming out of the corners.

Not fully convinced. The Sport version I have appears to exhibit more understeer in the wet than the Fleva. I thought the Fleva were great tyres, although they didn't last as long. Both were bought from Tyres.co.uk, as usual.
