The Vredestein T-Trac 2 passenger tyre has been designed for summer conditions and features a tread pattern channeling water away from the tyre using three longitudinal central grooves. It features a central rib for tread block stability, lateral grooves to aid water removal and slits that meet the road for extra grip. The tread compound has been created to lower rolling resistance and is silica based.

T-Trac 2, launched in 2015, was the successor of the original T-Trac, and was later superseded by T-Trac 3. The tread design of T-Trac 2 incorporates central rib channels and open outer water removal grooves, and is not as segmented as winter tyre tread designs. I have no problems with that. I have them fitted on my 1970 Beetle but I only drive it when it is dry. I do feel more secure with good quality new tyres.

Even though the tyres are doing the job, I was disappointed when I went to order another 3 only to find they were out of stock, despite the site still showing them as available. Regardless, the garage was quick to apologise and refund me.

I have observed, during the few times I have taken the car out in torrential rain, the tyres have done an outstanding job. Even on the MGC GT, which is often rather unjustly and unfairly maligned for its road handling, these tyres inspire a lot of confidence.
