Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.
Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.
The Uniroyal WinterExpert is a seasonal tyre to channel water and slush with its directional tread design and 3PMSF designation. From centre to outer edge tread design, Uniroyal’s Shark Skin Technology is used to design tread with ribbed surfaces to dissipate water and eliminate aquaplaning. The Snow Groove Technology retains snow within the blocks and, therefore, promotes snow to snow adhesion as the tyre rotates. Uniroyal utilises a winter tyre polymer to design a tyre that remains flexible in cold temperatures, and the slits added to the blocks create additional traction on compacted snow.
The WinterExpert is the newer design on the MS plus 77 for passenger vehicles. The 3PMSF designation means it meets the acceptable severe snow service level standard. The WinterExpert SUV is the higher load tyre of the two. Tyres.co.uk has the WinterExpert available for purchase.
