The Nankang AW-6, with its directional tread design, is a unique all-weather tyre that focuses on drainage in wet conditions and traction on cold surfaces. The design incorporates wide grooves that run water away and angled grooves that eliminate surface water. The thin, closely-spaced grooves (sipes) create additional edges that enhance grip in cold conditions. The tyre also features a sturdy centre that helps control high-speed driving on the motorway.
Wet temperature performance is aided with a rubber compound that has silica and is formulated to aid grip at varying temperatures. The directional tread design does require the tyre to be installed in its marked rolling direction. The AW-6 is a winter tyre and satisfies the requirements for the 3PMSF and M+S markings.
