The Nankang AS-3 is an ultra-high-performance summer tyre that uses an asymmetric tread layout and focuses on dry-road cornering and water evacuation. The outer edge uses large blocks for cornering stiffness while the inner edge uses a straight, steady, rib. The inner edge rubber uses a silica compound to increase wet traction. The tread pattern uses 4 circumferential grooves to channel water into slanted drain outlets.
Sound is reduced due to a variable-pitch tread block. XL construction is available and is used for vehicles that require a higher load capacity due to that particular sidewall marking. Tyres.co.uk sells the Nankang AS-3 tyre and their reinforced XL construction.
