The Nankang AS-1 is a summer tyre designed to perform in a variety of conditions, including handling standing water, and cornering on wet, humid, or dry roads. Its asymmetric tread features four wide grooves running front to back. These grooves direct water away from the tread contacting the road. The grooves and the pattern of the tyre contribute to channel water away. The blocks along the outer edge of the pattern are designed to form a cornering tyre.
Because the pattern of the tyre has distinct inner and outer sides, the outer side is to be mounted facing outside the vehicle; this means the conforming blocks are to be positioned on the outer side of the tyre. The Nankang AS-1 is best suited for road conditions above 7 degrees Celsius. Tyres.co.uk sells the Nankang AS-1.
