The Michelin Primacy 4 S1 is a high-performance summer tyre that centres on braking in wet conditions as tyre tread diminishes. It employs EverGrip Technologies for Michelin, which maintain clear channels for the exit of water throughout the tread of the tyre. The tread incorporates a rubber compound of a newer generation, optimised for wet conditions. It features square-shaped grooves that, as rubber diminishes, create greater space for water to escape. Longitudinal grooves direct the water out of the tread.

Michelin claims that the design of the grooves creates 22% more space compared to the Primacy 3. The Primacy 4+ replaced the Primacy 4 and continued the progression of wet performance for the remainder of Michelin’s summer ranges. At Tyres.co.uk, we sell the Michelin Primacy 4 S1.

The performance of these tyres has been great in all weather conditions, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I live in a city with a lot of roundabouts so these tyres will wear down quickly, but I've had less expensive tyres before and they don't last as long. Unfortunately, my rear tyres aren't operating at their usual standard. I have been buying Michelin Primacy 4 tyres for years and usually obtain between 70k to 85k miles from them. However, my current set has only achieved 35k. The inner and outer edges are worn down, and they need to be replaced. I am rather disappointed to be replacing them this soon.

The Michelin tyres made for an excellent choice, giving a significantly smoother ride and much better grip in wet and dry conditions, and they are also much quieter than the previous ones. The old tyres were some unknown Chinese brand, completely unsuitable even for a horse and cart, so they had to be replaced. I don't make that mistake any longer.

The tyres are meeting my expectations. They replaced two Michelin rear tyres that came with the car 6.5 years ago and over 35,000 miles. New tyres seem to hold their air pressure better. I went with Michelin tyres because 1. They tend to have long lifespans and the front tyres last over 30,000 miles in 5 years. 2. They are the same brand and tread as the front ones. 3. They are great for all weather conditions with particular emphasis on the wet which increases my confidence in them.
