The Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 is a performance summer tyre incorporating features of an asymmetrical tread design to create a ‘feel’ for driving in warm weather. Summer tyres are softer than all-season tyres with a stiffer internal design. This combines to means the Michelin Pilot Sport S5 is designed for quick changes in direction. The summer compound and specific design mean this tyre is best suited for warm driving with temperatures above 7 degrees Celsius.

Like with many performance tyres, the design of the tread incorporates a way to manage wear of the tyre over its lifetime. As with any other summer performance tyre, the Michelin Pilot Sport S5 has specific sidewall sizing, load index, and speed ratings. All of these combined mean this tyre can only be used for its designed purpose, and can’t be used to replace all other tyres. The Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 is available at Tyres.co.uk.

I have driven approximately 7,000 miles on these tyres and they have been great. The grip is excellent in all conditions. Much more confident behind the wheel since switching to these. Road noise is improved too.

My initial scepticism was proven wrong with the Michelin Pilot Sport S 5s. From the first drive they performed exceptionally well on my BMW. They are also solid and responsive, particularly when it is wet. They are also quiet, which is something I definitely appreciate. I have no nostalgia for my old tyres.

I think these tyres offer the best combination of comfort and performance. They have also improved my car's overall ride quality, and you really do feel the road. The car doesn't flinch at all in the rain either.
