Rolling resistance has a direct impact on fuel consumption. A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to E.
A tyre's wet grip capacity is expressed in Grades from A to E. The difference in braking distances between each grade is roughly 3m - an average car length.
The exterior noise grade of a tyre is expressed in decibels and accompanied by an external rolling noise rating - ranging from A (least exterior noise) to C (highest level of noise).
These tyres have been specifically designed for fitment and use on cars.
These tyres are designed with a stronger sidewall, making them capable of handling more weight than your average tyre. Typically, they are classified by the letters 'XL' on the sidewall.
The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect DT is a road-legal track-day tyre designed specifically for running dry repeat laps. Unlike the original track tyres, the Connect system helps users manage tyre pressures for each lap and each session. Utilising Bi-Compound Technology, a high-molecular-chain elastomer is positioned on the outer shoulder, supported by rigid block technology. The inner shoulder uses a separate Rigid-Elastomer compound with edge technology and grooves to remove standing water from the tread.
The Track Connect system also incorporates wheel sensors to communicate pressure and temperature information to the Michelin app during a session. Michelin claims that with this Tech, the system will provide pressure recommendations for the following sessions. We offer the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect DT as part of our range at Tyres.co.uk.
