Tyre review for Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S 245/40R20 99Y XL
I changed my rear tyres from Bridgestone Potenza S001 XL 245/40R20 which had an initial tread depth of 6.1mm and have now covered 14,400 miles over a period of five years, which means the tread depth is now flush with the indicators. The Michelins are supposed to perform at least as good as the Bridgestones in both the dry and wet, and also come with a bit more tread, so considering the cost, I hope they will last longer. This is tyre is a replacement for the one that got a puncture at 16,700 miles, 18 months after the tyres were first put on. The tread depth was 8mm new, and after 2,300 miles it was down to 7mm, so the wear rate appears to be the same as the Bridgestones.
