The Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is a summer performance tyre that balances wet-weather performance and tread-life. It uses an asymmetric tread along with Michelin Anti Surf System that helps clear standing water at speed. The Anti Surf System shapes the grooves and channels in the tread to quickly divert water away from the tyre tread in case of heavy rainfall. It features a rubber compound called Green Power Compound that helps enhance wet grip and lowers rolling resistance.

The next generation of the Pilot Sport tyre range is the Pilot Sport 4. The self-supporting tyre sidewalls in the ZP runflat versions are designed to carry the vehicle in case of a tyre puncture or loss of pressure. These tyres are excellent in wet and dry weather, so you feel safe driving. Compared to the old Pirelli P6000s that still had good tread, but were past their use by date, these are a world apart. Comfort is improved in the cabin as well, but I think these Michelins are a little more noise inducing. Yet, because these tyres are mounted to an MX-5, which is not a quiet car, I don't really mind.

As a performer, this is of course a class of its own. They are not overly noisy and they grip well. They pair well with the weight of the Audi A5. I have full confidence in those tyres. I would absolutely recommend them to others.
