Tyre review for Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport 265/40R21 105Y XL
I have driven more than 2000 miles with these tyres and have experienced every kind of weather, making me appreciate these tyres even more. At first, the steering may feel a little lighter, but you get used to it. In moderately dry temperatures, the tyres are not as accurate as you would expect when you first make a turn because of the rubber being more pliable, but they still hold very well. Summer tyres may perform better on a race track, but you will not notice a difference when driving on normal roads. I had amazing grip during the rainy season when there was a lot of mud and slippery leaves. I have driven these tyres in the Alps when the roads were icy and snowy and the temperatures were below 20 degrees Celsius. I was able to drive up hills that I would not have tackled with chains on summer tyres. I did lose a little fuel efficiency, maybe about 2-4%, when compared to summer tyres. There is a very small trade-off with these tyres and dedicated summer or winter tyres, which is why I have decided not to get a set of winter wheels anymore.
