Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.
A stronger sidewall lets this tyre carry more weight than a standard tyre of the same size. Marked XL on the sidewall.
Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.
The Kumho WinterCraft WP52 winter tyre for passenger vehicles is designed to provide traction on snow, slush, and rain, as well as on cold dry roads. This tyre features a directional tread design with outer edge channels to rapidly remove water from the contact patch. Additionally, as a winter tyre, the WP52’s tread features slits to aid traction on icy or snow covered surfaces. Kumho’s winter tyre tread compound stays flexible and assists the tread in conforming to the road at low temperatures.
Kumho’s WP52 tyre model has replaced the WinterCraft WP51 model. The WP52 also has M+S and 3PMSF markings on the sidewall of the tyre. The 3PMSF marking indicates that this model has also passed the snow-traction test. There are also reinforced XL versions of this tyre model available to provide a higher load capacity. Tyres.co.uk sells the Kumho WP52, including the reinforced XL versions.
