The Kumho KH27 is a wet weather summer touring tyre, having been designed to clear wet road surfaces. The tyre has booth broad circumferential grooves, and channeling grooves that lead water away from the contact patch. The circumferential grooves create a new path for water to exit the tyre contact patch as the tyre rotates. The channeling grooves, which intersect the tread, direct water to the outer edge of the tyre.
There is a stable longitudinal section of the tread to support straight line driving, and the outer blocks are shaped to support the tyre during cornering. Being summer tyre, the Kumho KH27 is suited for temperatures over 7 degrees Celsius, which is the range of temperatures for driving in the UK during spring to autumn.
