The Kumho Ecsta HM KH31 is a high-performance summer tyre that prioritises wet-road control. Its construction includes a silica-based tread compound along with a directional tread pattern designed to combat aquaplaning. The Ecsta HM KH31 features vertically-aligned grooves that transport water from the tyre contact patch. Water is then directed to the tyre edges by V-shaped channeling construction. The outer corner blocks have a large, continuous carving to provide additional cornering support.

The tread surface features fine rubber slits that provide enhanced cornering support in wet conditions. The ecsta HM KH31 features block patterns with various noise-reduction spacings. The K1 markings printed onto the sidewalls identify that specific production runs of the Ecsta HM KH31 were made to fit Mercedes-Benz vehicles (rather than just clearance fitting). Fitting these tyres has given me more grip straight away. When cornering, the car would slide at the back with the Jinyu tyres, but that problem has completely gone! It's so much better driving with these tyres on the back.

Given their price, these tyres offer great performance. They grip very well on wet and dry roads. Steer response is good. Even though the car is sensitive at the front, the tyres make the car handle well. My car is pretty noisy so it is hard to pin point the road noise. I am happy with the performance and the price.

I used to have Goodyear run flat tyres but switched to these regular ones. I am enjoying them a lot more. Unlike the run flats, these tyres are quieter and offer a smoother ride. The handling in both dry and wet conditions is still as good as the run flats, and I have even tried them in the snow as well without any problem. I am really happy with Tyres.co.uk and I will definitely come back.
