The Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact summer tyre incorporates design features to decrease rolling resistance and improve grip and water clearance. It is equipped with neighbouring double grooves to reduce water contact, and a new base layering technology to reduce energy dissipation and rolling resistance offers a measurable decrease in fuel consumption. The tyre also uses a new rubber compound designed for grip on wet roads.

The new design on the tyre casing increases stiffness and is combined with Goodyear's new wear-resistant compound for improved mileage. Wet braking technology integrates the new compound and the pattern designed to clear water from the road surface in the same tread design. The tyre fitters were polite and performed excellent work. They also inflated the tyres to the appropriate pressure. Tyres feel balanced, so it seems everything is spot on.

Even though my old tyres weren't worn down they were cheap and pretty outdated. With my new tyres, steering feel and grip has improved noticeably, especially when the weather is wet and cold. Now the car understeers less, and responds better when I change speed during a turn. I'm impressed with these tyres, but I still haven't had the time to monitor fuel economy or how long they last.
