Product description & features

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is a summer tyre focused on improving performance during wet conditions with an innovative asymmetric design. Goodyear claims that the innovation is that the design allows the rubber to hammer tiny bits of the wet road, increasing contact, and therefore, friction. It is also designed to guide the water away from the centre grooves to improve dry performance. The outer edge of the design has large blocks that provide support when cornering.

The Asymmetric 6 replaced the Asymmetric 5 in 2022. Goodyear also claims that their SoundComfort Technology are tyre inserts made of polyurethane that help absorb and lower the noise caused by the air moving in and out of the tyre. Tyres.co.uk sells the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, SoundComfort editions included.

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 6) 225/60R17 99Y
I replaced the Michelin Crossclimate 2s on my SLK with this set. These are not designed for extreme wet or cold situations, but they do cope with difficult weather quite well. They really shine on dry roads with added grip. I think that unless you are prepared to spend more on true performance tyres, these are the best value sporty road tyres. I fully recommend these tyres.

They manage bumps really well, have great grip on both wet and dry surfaces, but may lack a little feedback in the corners.
