Product description & features

Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 is a summer tyre that was engineered based on high-speed braking procedures. This particular tyre features the Dunlop’s Short Braking Blocks that ensures optimal road contact with the brakes. Dynamic Response Technology helps transmit steering information from the wheel to the tyre and then to the road. Bringing the brake contact between the wheel and the tyre closer helps achieve greater stiffness of the tyre. The continuous grooves along the tyre from the front to the back help in draining the water and moisture from the tyre.

The Sport Maxx RT2 is a part of the Dunlop performance road tyre range, which is a replacement of the Sport Maxx RT tyre. The Dunlop Adaptive Compound consists of various rubber types located throughout the tyre surface that allows it to adapt to the variations of stiffness during braking. Side wall damage can help maintain the pressure in the tyre after the blowout. The Sport Maxx RT2 and the Run-Flat variants are available at Tyres.co.uk.

I think they are performing as expected. There has been no abnormal wear, although they can be a bit loud on UK roads.

Tyre review for Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 275/30R19 96Y XL
These tyres are doing their job adequately. They do seem to be quieter at lower speeds, but I think they're a bit louder than the Bridgestone ones I had previously.

Tyre review for Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 275/30R19 96Y XL
Usually work well in most conditions but do have some difficulties in cold and wet weather. I have felt the back end of my car slide out on slow tight corners and roundabouts. I would recommend caution below 5 degrees. Just to note, my car's weight is mostly at the front.

Tyre review for Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 275/30R19 96Y XL
As stated before, they are developing cracks and appear to wiggle when going over white line or tarmac seam. They are especially bad in wet conditions. Plus they are way louder than the Michelins I had before. Not happy with the garage that fitted them. They said they had to take the car out to reset the tyre monitors when really they reset automatically. They were gone for 45 minutes and when I got it back, it looked like it had been driven quite hard; there was black soot up the rear bumper and tailgate. The car is a Ford Focus ST estate, tuned to 300bhp.
