The Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 prioritises usability for the winter months over summer driving. Tyre tread design allows for the efficient dispersal of slush, while the dense siping within the tread design helps provide traction on ice. Water or slush is guided by deep grooves to the outer edges of the tyre. The outer blocks of the tread design help provide steering response when the edges of the tyre come in contact with the road while the inner blocks help provide traction.

The carcass construction is designed to provide traction while also evenly distributing wear. The winter tread compound assists the tyre in the cold driving conditions, while the dense siping and tread design, combined with the firm outer blocks, prepare the tyre for adverse road conditions. Tyre review for Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 245/40R18 97V XL
I am trying these tyres for the first time this year, so I don't know how they perform in snow and ice. Because of that, I can't make a comparison to the Pirelli Sotto Zero tyres I've had for the past three years. Once the season ends, I will have more comments to share.
