Product description & features

The Dunlop SP SportMaxx is a summer tyre designed to improve performance at speed and in the corners. It employs a 10-radius tread with the aim of dispersing the pressure more evenly on the contact patch when the tyre is cornering. Dunlop calls this technology Multi-Radius Tread technology. It keeps the entire width of the tread engaged in the corner. To counter the shape of the tyre at high speeds, Dunlop employs their patented Jointless Band technology. It consists of a spiral-wound nylon layer around the belt package, which helps the tyre casing retain its shape.

Dunlop’s Silica-Plus compound helps the tyre maintain performance with good grip on wet roads and improves fuel economy with lower rolling resistance. A few models have the sidewall tags AO or MO. This means they were produced for the Audi or Mercedes-Benz specifications and are not just aftermarket tyres for those cars. At Tyres.co.uk, we have the Dunlop SP SportMaxx, including the runflat version.

Tyre review for Dunlop SP SportMaxx 295/30R22 103Y XL
Undoubtedly, these are better than the budget tyres fitted by the garage. They seem to perform at the level as my previously used Pzero Neros.

Tyre review for Dunlop SP SportMaxx 295/30R22 103Y XL
I switched from BMW's run-flat tyres to regular tyres because my car was all over the place on uneven roads. Ever since I changed to Dunlop tyres, my car handles bumps way better, and the noise from the tyres is substantially quieter. The grip, too, is vastly better than before when it comes to wet conditions. I really recommend these tyres to anyone who has a 330 or 325 with 17" wheels.

I picked these tyres because they are quieter than the original Michelins and give a better ride with better handling.

The car originally came with Pirelli tyres and they were all but useless outside of completely dry conditions, so I had to change them out immediately. The Dunlop tyres, on the other hand, have better performance and also less groove tracking than the Pirellis.

I got these for the back of my CLK as they are cheaper than the SP9000s I have at the front. They provide good grip and good balance but are louder on the road, probably due to the tread pattern. Still, they are a bargain and, as Dunlops, I expect them to last well before a replacement is needed.

Great performance in wet conditions. Unfortunately again, I would buy them if they still made my size.

They have the same level of noise as the original Bridgestones, despite what the EU label claims, but they do surprisingly well when it comes to wet conditions. A definitely improvement from the old Dunlops!

Tyre review for Dunlop SP SportMaxx 295/30R22 103Y XL
I am quite pleased with these Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres. For an X5 M-Sport, locating tyres can be difficult as the choices are restricted, and they must be run-flats due to no spare tyre provision. The typical run-flats are usually quite loud and uncomfortable due to a combination of low profile tyres, which means they are more prone to flex, and the stiff sidewalls. However, these tyres are far superior to the original Bridgestones I had. They are less loud and appear to be softer, which is precisely the requirement for this vehicle. I will be getting the same ones for the front tyres, and would recommend these to anyone.

Tyre review for Dunlop SP SportMaxx 295/30R22 103Y XL
I had these tyres fitted to my Insignia VXR which has 20 inch alloys. I purchased a set of four tyres about a year ago but had to buy another after my wife clipped a kerb and damaged the sidewall. These replaced the Dunlop Sport tyres that lasted over 24,000 miles from when we got the car so these have a big target to hit! So far they have handled great in both wet and dry conditions and are very quiet on the road. I would recommend and buy again.
