The Dunlop SP SportMaxx GT is a summer tyre designed for high speed stability with a tread optimised for fast cornering and Kevlar sidewall reinforcement. The tread features a blocky outer edge for cornering with a more open inner edge for water clearance. The steering is aided with sidewall reinforcement as cornering forces resist flex.

Extensive use of Multi Radius Tread means the curvature of the tread is optimised throughout the width of the tyre. Dunlop Self Supporting Technology is featured on some sizes; it is a construction technique that allows the sidewall to support the vehicle during a loss of pressure to assist runflat capability. There are limited run-flat tyres available for my vehicle, and all of them are similarly priced, with the rear ones being slightly more expensive. So, I chose the Dunlop Sport Maxx GT run-flat tyres. I had Bridgestone tyres before since that's what most BMW dealerships provide. Dunlop tyres are not new to me. I tend to drive more than I like to actively engage with the performance of the car, and almost all my driving is on the motorway so I have not experienced any major changes in the performance of the car. Performance of the new tyres is on par with my old tyres but the better range is definitely a plus. With the Bridgestone tyres, I could typically do about 500 miles on a full 80 litre tank. I can now do 50 miles more with the Dunlop tyres, which is a significant improvement and true to the efficiency claims I saw on their website. Others may have different performance expectations from these tyres depending on their driving style but for my cruising needs with my large family SUV, these tyres have saved me money and provided great value so I would definitely recommend them!

They handle dry road surface very well, however, their traction while driving on wet road surface is less impressive. The car will typically understeer in tight corners while it is raining.
