A stronger sidewall lets this tyre carry more weight than a standard tyre of the same size. Marked XL on the sidewall.
Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.
The Continental WinterContact TS 870 is a passenger car winter tyre designed for optimal performance in both wet and snowy conditions. The directional design helps with the tyre's ability to evacuate slush and water as the temperature drops. It features a Chili compound which remains flexible in the cold to improve braking on wet roads. Its unique Hydro Groove design works with the tread channels to quickly evacuate water. The braking performance on snow covered roads is improved with the SnowCurve+ technology which adds the capability to the tyre to hold some snow within the tread design. This model also features the 3PMSF marking which means this tyre meets the required standards for severe snow service.
The WinterContact TS 870 P is the option for higher performance vehicles in this range. Tyres.co.uk stocks the WinterContact TS 870.
