Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.
Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.
The Continental VanContact Winter is a specialised winter tyre designed to optimise both snowscape traction and wet braking performance for light commercial vehicles. Each tread block of the tyre employs 3D sipes. These are slits with walls that create traction in snow, as well as supporting the block when it contacts the road. Snow Traps are features that Continental utilises in-between the blocks. These are snow pockets that help the blocks maintain grip in the snow.
The VanContact Winter is built to replace the VancoWinter 2 in Continental’s winter commercial tyre range. The 3PMSF sidewall designation indicates that it has successfully passed the snow traction test which is required to obtain the designation. This helps the tyre in areas where a vehicle policy or winter road requirement mandates the presence of such a tyre. At Tyres.co.uk, we offer the Continental VanContact Winter.
