Tyre review for Continental Premium Contact 7 235/60R18 107V XL
When I purchased my car 12 years ago, I fitted my SEAT 1.8 FR with Continental Contact 5 tyres. From my research, Continental tyres always seemed to be among the best three and I thought it best to go with a brand I was already familiarised with. I have noticed a gradual improvement in grip over the different versions. My only complaint is that as the UK roads can be particularly bumpy, it seems road noise comes through the chassis quite a lot. They are significantly quieter on more recently surfaced (newly laid) and French roads. I haven't quite worked out the wear rate yet, but the new treads are just over 7mm. If you are changing them at 3mm like is recommended, that's not very much tread to work with. My previous tyres had really good dry grip and handling between 3 and 2mm, but do be very careful in the extremely wet conditions.
