Tyre review for Continental Eco Contact 5 215/60R17 96V
I had the Continental Contact 5 for a few years, and it was excellent for wet conditions, although rather expensive. These new tyres claimed to be just as good but come with the added benefit of being quieter. I decided to give them a go. On the second day, while I was accelerating on a slightly wet and curved onramp to the A64, the front slipped and regained grip only after easing off, creating a little wobble. I even stopped on the onramp to check the tyre pressure and the wheel bolts! It was 100 miles, so it shouldn't have been the release agent. I am currently driving with more caution to see if they improve or if they are worse than the Contact 5s with 1.6mm tread remaining.
