The Turanza T005 is Bridgestone’s premium summer touring tyre. It focuses on everyday wet braking performance. Bridgestone uses their NanoPro-Tech to dissipate damp road performance. The T005 uses silica, and its asymmetric tread blocks contain water route High Angle Sipes (H.A.S.) along with directional edges that create grooves to help remove water and damp road tarmac. There are large outer edge blocks to help steering.

The T005 replaced the T001, and Bridgestone claims it performs better by stopping up to 2m sooner. They released that number around the T005’s 2018 launch. The T005’s sidewall has an XL, which can be seen on the sidewall, meaning it has an additional reinforced sidewall. Tyres.co.uk has the T005 in stock including the additional XL versions.

I have only ever been a customer of Bridgestone since they are the only company that has provided excellent service and fuel efficiency. The last time I replaced my front tyres, I even noticed a difference in the amount of fuel my car was using. During this time of dry and warm weather, I have not been able to make observations regarding their performance in wet conditions. However, once it starts raining, I should be able to do a proper test. This is because the road conditions will be slippery as a result of the wet conditions after a dry stretch.
