Product description & features

The Bridgestone Potenza S001 is a max-performance summer tyre aimed for quick steering response on the motorway and A-roads. It uses larger angled blocks on the outer tread to retain shape for load while cornering. The inner tread uses Bridgestone’s NanoPro-Tech compound which helps reduce build up heat. There is a continuous centre rib which supports braking and enhances the response of the steering.

Some models are marked with the BMW star mark and Mercedes MOE marking on the sidewall. This shows they were made for those specific manufacturers and complying with either marking keeps the original tyre specification for the vehicle. The run-flat models have sidewalls reinforced to support the vehicles after the tyres have lost all air pressure. Tyres.co.uk stock the Bridgestone Potenza S001 including run-flat models.

Tyre review for Bridgestone Potenza S001 245/40R17 91W
The new tyres give excellent road grip. I was pleasantly surprised with the other rear-wheel drive handling in the wet. They are also really quiet and deal with potholes well, as you can't avoid every one. I would definitely buy them again and strongly recommend them.

Tyre review for Bridgestone Potenza S001 245/40R17 91W
I bought the car when it was brand new, and it came with Bridgestone tyres. Unfortunately, over the holidays, I hit a pothole and damaged one of the tyres; in Spain, I could not find a replacement Bridgestone tyre, so I got a Michelin. However, I later changed it back to Bridgestone. In my opinion, the handling of the two is pretty similar, but the ride is certainly smoother and quieter with the Bridgestone tyre. I am also happy with the mileage of the tyre.
