Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.
A stronger sidewall lets this tyre carry more weight than a standard tyre of the same size. Marked XL on the sidewall.
Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.
The Blizzak LM001 winter car tyre from Bridgestone is designed to wick away water and melting snow while still providing traction on packed snow. Its directional pattern is made of wide, angled grooves that slosh slush and water out of the pattern and allow for slits densely packed on the tread. These slits assist the blocks for braking and provide traction for snowy and slippery roads. Bridgestone’s advanced rubber technology keeps the rubber pliable and aggressive in cold temps.
The Blizzak LM001 was eventually replaced by the Blizzak LM005 in the winter car tyre line from Bridgestone. Bridgestone also made versions of the LM005 in a run-flat construction, designed to assist and support the vehicle after a loss of pressure. At Tyres.co.uk, we offer the Bridgestone Blizzak LM001, including the run-flat construction.
