The Westlake H188 is a tyre engineered specifically for the stressors of a light commercial vehicle. The design incorporates a ribbed pattern. It is not an open all-terrain design. The design of the Westlake H188 has three grooves that run longitudinally through the tread, which breaks the tread into ribs useful for road driving. The ribs are slotted, which gives the Westlake H188 added gripping ability on wet roads.

Westlake H188 sizes that are C-marked, feature the format of a commercial tyre and are fitted to vans, and also feature a dual load index, of which the first number represents the load for single wheel vans and the second number is for double wheel vans. Bought these to save a bit of money and I regret it. They are noisy from about 50 mph and you can hear them over the radio on the motorway. Grip in the wet is nothing special either, the back end steps out on roundabouts if it has been raining. They have worn unevenly across the front pair in less than eight thousand miles. Cheap for a reason, I would pay more next time.
