History

The story of Westlake Tyres starts in 1958 with the formation of the Zhongce Rubber Group Company. Originally focussing on the production of bicycle tyres, the Zhongce Rubber Group saw an opportunity to expand into the automotive market, with tyres for cars and other vehicles, launching Westlake Tyres as one of its headline brands.

Diversity has remained an integral value across the Zhongce Group expansion and the manufacturing of its plethora of tyres under the Westlake name and as part of other brands – including Goodride, Arisun, and Trazano. This diversity can be seen in the number of vehicle types that these tyres support, as well as the variable conditions and climates.

Alongside this continued expansion in the tyre range, Westlake Tyres and its parent company invest heavily in premium tyre technology. This includes a world-class tyre noise testing facility, x-ray inspection, track testing systems, and balancing and uniformity testing.

Westlake’s Position on the Tyre Market

Westlake Tyres is a mid-range tyre brand, offering tyres that are more affordable than many of the premium names on the market like Michelin, Goodyear, and Pirelli.

Despite the superior technology that does a great deal of heavy lifting, with a global research and development team ensuring that each new tyre is engineered for all markets, climates, and drivers, Westlake Tyres continue to balance quality with value for money.

Just a few of the factors that make the Westlake brand popular include the brand’s own tyre warranty guarantee for superior treadwear, and the diverse range of tyres that cover varying vehicle types, driven through and across different climates. Westlake Tyres boasts tyres for ultra-high performance driving and everyday travel, channelling the same comfort and reliability into all tyre types – and giving the brand its reputation for consistency and value.

Popular Westlake Models and Collections

With such a diverse range of tyres to browse, identifying the most popular models means first considering vehicle size and type, and then the terrain you will be driving on.

For example, passenger car drivers who are typically navigating regular roads tend to be drawn towards the Westlake SA07 and Westlake RP18 tyres, both of which provide a comfortable driving experience with excellent grip and handling. For off-road driving, the Westlake SL369 tyres

The Westlake Zuper Ace SA-57 is one of the most popular UHP (ultra-high performance) tyres, noted for its aquaplaning resistance and high levels of control through different climates and terrains. And the Sport RS tyre comes in a range of tyre sizes and is an ideal performance tyre for competitive driving and high-speed stability.

Find Westlake Tyres
Browsing the Westlake Catalogue by Season
Westlake tyres embody quality in every turn, by combining innovative design features with industry-leading testing and quality standards. As you browse the catalogue of budget tyres for different vehicles, one of the best ways to filter tyres is by season – identifying the best tyres that bridge safety with comfort and performance.

A popular option for UK drivers, owing to our temperate climate and the versatile functionality of all-season tyres, these tyres can navigate treacherous winter roads and changing summer conditions with ease. Models like the All Season Elite Z-401 and the All Season Master SW613 tyres have chunky tread patterns and deep grooves, which ensure excellent traction on varying terrains and flexible rubber compounds that adapt to different temperatures.

Summer tyres need to be able to move between dry performance and wet grip seamlessly. This can be seen with models like the Westlake ZuperEco Z-107 and the Sport SA-37 which are strong with reinforced sidewalls to mitigate the high temperatures. Other summer tyres include the SU318 A/T tyres for off-road driving, and models like the SC328 and Westlake H188 which are specifically engineered with wet grip functionality.

Winter tyres boast excellent traction and are built to remain flexible and pliable across the coldest of climates and the most challenging conditions. The best winter tyres from the Westlake collection include the Zuper Snow Z-507 and the Westlake SW608 winter tyres – both of which have deep tread grooves with optimised fuel efficiency.
