The RF10 H/T by Rotalla is a highway-terrain tyre meant for SUVs, 4x4s and pick-ups. This tyre is predominantly for those vehicles that stay on tarmac/bitumen roads. The utilitarian design of the RF10 H/T incorporates lengthy, continuous grooves. These are meant to provide a path for water to flow away from the contact patch of the tyre that is in contact with the road in wet conditions. Fine micro slits along the contact patch also provide some traction in damp conditions. The larger voids along the outer edge of the tread design support the tyre when the vehicle is loaded and is towing within the specified limits.
The particular tread design is optimal for the typical driving patterns associated with commuting to work and/or prolonged driving on the motorway. The voids in the tread design dampen the sound caused from driving on the road. This design also protects the tyre from the everyday bumps of a and motorway.
