Pirelli Scorpion All Season SF 2 features an SUV tyre design optimised for all seasons and is built around the 3PMSF winter certification. Its directional V shape assists in clearing water and snow. The scorpion features zig-zag grooves, which transport water from the centre of the design to the outer edge of the tyre. It contains 3D slits which open at the road surface and snow and helps in stabilising the design. It also features snow gripping edges.

The Scorpion Verde All Season SF has been replaced by the Scorpion All Season SF 2 in the Pirelli SUV range. The side wall’s M+S and 3PMSF symbols represent Mud and Snow design and Snow Grip certification, respectively. The certification of 3PMSF is provided after the having been tested in snow conditions. After consulting a specialist, the wheels on a 1996 Bentley Turbo R were replaced with a different type of tyre, as Avons Turbo speeds were out of stock. This meant a minor change to tyre size. The new tyres are a definite improvement over the old Avons, which were cracked, and hard and worn out.

One of the tyres was damaged after 15,000 miles. I could not replace it because I was stuck i between sf2 and sf3, so I ended up ditching three tyres with 6 mm tread still left. I now have Michelin Pilot run-flat summer tyres.

These tyres are most reassuring to drive with in the rain. With our winter being rainy in 2024-25, I haven't yet driven on ice or snow to assess their performance in those conditions. The wear on all four tyres is very even and good. They're on a 14-year-old Infiniti EX 30D with 57,000 miles, so the suspension may be a bit worn out, which may explain why the handling is not as sharp as I expected. It's still safe though. Compared to a 5-year-old Citroen C3 Aircross and a 5-year-old Kia Soul electric, the newer cars clearly drive a bit better.
