The Pirelli Cinturato Winter 2 premium passenger car tyre is designed for snow braking and traction. It employs a directional V-shaped tread for the braking performance and traction for snow and the evacuation of water and slush through tread channels and towards the outer edge. Pirelli's 2in1 Block layout divides snow edges in a block, while allowing the two halves to assist one another during braking. Pirelli's Multiactive 4D Sipes are thin, short cuts in a block that pull water out from the surface and create new edges for traction.

Pirelli claims that the Cinturato Winter 2 improves snow performance by 20%, while showing a 10% improvement in rolling resistance, compared to the Cinturato Winter. All in all, it's a decent tyre. I've done 3100 miles so far on a Christmas drive across Europe. Most of the time I was on dry tarmac motorways, however I also had to deal with snow in cities and forests. When it is over 14C they seem a bit too soft, but below 5C they are fantastic. In the snow they have excellent grip in the woods and are also very quiet on the motorways. I would get them again for sure.
