Rolling resistance has a direct impact on fuel consumption. A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to E.
A tyre's wet grip capacity is expressed in Grades from A to E. The difference in braking distances between each grade is roughly 3m - an average car length.
The exterior noise grade of a tyre is expressed in decibels and accompanied by an external rolling noise rating - ranging from A (least exterior noise) to C (highest level of noise).

The Nankang AS-1 is a summer tyre designed to perform in a variety of conditions, including handling standing water, and cornering on wet, humid, or dry roads. Its asymmetric tread features four wide grooves running front to back. These grooves direct water away from the tread contacting the road. The grooves and the pattern of the tyre contribute to channel water away. The blocks along the outer edge of the pattern are designed to form a cornering tyre.
Because the pattern of the tyre has distinct inner and outer sides, the outer side is to be mounted facing outside the vehicle; this means the conforming blocks are to be positioned on the outer side of the tyre.
