The Minerva Frostrack uses a silica compound for the tread and design to serve as a winter passenger-tyre built for cold-weather roads. The Frostrack has a tread with a system to displace water and slush. The Frostrack has an array of deep grooves to give water a path out from under the tyre. The Frostrack also has micro slits in the tread to produce edges that provide grip on snowy roads. The silica-based rubber compound is designed to improve longevity of the tread and increase fuel economy.
