Rolling resistance has a direct impact on fuel consumption. A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to E.
A tyre's wet grip capacity is expressed in Grades from A to E. The difference in braking distances between each grade is roughly 3m - an average car length.
The exterior noise grade of a tyre is expressed in decibels and accompanied by an external rolling noise rating - ranging from A (least exterior noise) to C (highest level of noise).

The Michelin Primacy 4 S1 is a high-performance summer tyre that centres on braking in wet conditions as tyre tread diminishes. It employs EverGrip Technologies for Michelin, which maintain clear channels for the exit of water throughout the tread of the tyre. The tread incorporates a rubber compound of a newer generation, optimised for wet conditions. It features square-shaped grooves that, as rubber diminishes, create greater space for water to escape. Longitudinal grooves direct the water out of the tread.
Michelin claims that the design of the grooves creates 22% more space compared to the Primacy 3. The Primacy 4+ replaced the Primacy 4 and continued the progression of wet performance for the remainder of Michelin’s summer ranges. At Tyres.co.uk, we sell the Michelin Primacy 4 S1.
