The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 is a tyre that was designed for high-performance and responsiveness on dry roads. It also stays useful in the cold and wet. Solid blocks in the outer edge of the tyre help cornering and dry road traction. Four grooves in the tyre remove water. Michelin's Helio+ Technology combines silica and sunflower oil which keep the tyre flexible in the cold. Variable Contact Patch 2.0 changes the contact patch when the tyre is accelerating, braking, and cornering in order to optimise pressure distribution over the tread.

The A/S 3 was the first tyre in the Pilot Sport A/S line and was later succeeded by the Pilot Sport A/S 3+ which has an updated tread compound. Some ZP versions use Zero Pressure construction and have reinforced sidewalls which support the vehicle after losing air. I was looking forward to these tyres, and they haven't disappointed me. While driving on the motorway, they feel solid and give confidence. They have been tried in both the rain and the shine, and although I've experienced a bit of road noise, they have done the job. I think for what I have paid, I could of got a better deal, but I am still content.

Honestly, I am not impressed. When they were new I thought they were decent, but now they seem much less reliable in wet conditions. Greater road noise has been apparent to me and with how much hype there is surrounding them, that's disappointing. I would not recommend them.

Performance has generally been decent, even if it's not praiseworthy. Steering and handling are good, although the ride is a bit firmer than expected. They do everything I need them to, just wish they were a bit quieter.
