Product description & features

Michelin Latitude Cross is a hybrid 4x4 summer tyre. It is engineered with a 90% road and 10% off-road distribution in mind. This means it will handle well for everyday road driving, as well as provide traction on gravel, dirt tracks and wet grass. The tyre tread design is called Mud Catcher. It uses interlocking blocks with open channels. The Mud Catcher design also has blocks on the outer edge intentionally shaped to dig into and clear off loose soil and mud. This tyre also incorporates a new formulation design by Michelin called Terrain-Proof, which is cut and chip resistant and is inspired by the earthmover tyre.

A computer aided design makes the tread of this tyre little to no noise and almost no vibration while the tyre rolls. Spacing is designed to keep closely linked central blocks with open spaces surrounding the edges. The Michelin Latitude Cross is available on Tyres.co.uk.

Highlights

  • 90% road, 10% off-road use

Tyre review for Michelin Latitude Cross 215/65R16 102H XL
While I haven't gone off-roading before, they seem to do well on grass, and, of course, they have great on-road handling, provide plenty of grip in the wet, and have great off-road handling.

I changed the front Duelers on my '05 X-Trail for these tyres because the Bridgestones had 3mm tread remaining and were quite scary even with light braking in the rain. The difference with these Michelins is amazing, road grip and stability has improved so much for both the wet and dry. Will be putting these on the rear in the near future. I still need to test them in deep mud off-road, but they performed well in soft sand.

Tyre review for Michelin Latitude Cross 215/65R16 102H XL
I drive a 2006 Honda CRV Mk 2, which has Michelin Latitude Cross tyres fitted. I have noticed that from about 30,000 miles road noise seems to increase, but they are still quite good. I usually change them at about 45,000 miles with roughly 2mm of tread left. I've gone through four sets on this car and the CRV before it.

Great tyres that offer good traction in wet conditions and snow and ice, despite not having a triple peak rating. They handle mud and rough roads really well. They are slightly louder on the road, but they do not seem to affect fuel consumption.

This is an outstanding brand of tyre company. I usually purchase Pirelli or Michelin. They perform excellently on mud and rain and have a very good road grip. I would buy these again.

Tyre review for Michelin Latitude Cross 215/65R16 102H XL
Swapped the front Bridgestone Duelers on my '05 X-Trail for these tyres because the Bridgestones, with 3mm tread left, were quite frightening even with mild braking in wet conditions. These Michelins have made a huge difference on the road, offering far better grip and stability in both wet and dry weather. Plan to fit them on the rear soon too. Haven't tested them in deep mud off-road yet, but they handled soft sand without any issues.

It seems like they have better traction for wet weather. They are quieter than Goodyears and the ride is smoother.

Tyre review for Michelin Latitude Cross 215/65R16 102H XL
I've gone through mud, slush, snow, and heavy rain and compared to all those times, now feels like the car is gliding on tracks. The ABS doesn't work as much on the more narrow roads. I got the better grip I was wishing for!
