The Michelin CrossClimate 2 is an all-season tyre designed for optimum year-round performance for dry, wet, or snowy braking situations. Featuring a directional V-shaped tread with 3PMSF certification, CrossClimate 2 utilises shoulder channeling to expel water from beneath the tyre, while self-locking snow cutting slits form snow traction edges. Michelin’s innovation, Thermal Adaptive Tread, stays flexible with winter slush to optimise the snow cutting edges.

Launched in 2021, the CrossClimate 2 is the successor to the CrossClimate+. According to Michelin, the new design pattern has been optimised to evacuate 10% more water. Crimped edges on the sidewall of the CrossClimate 2 indicate snow traction which meets the requirements of winter tyre regulations and standards. Due to the shifting UK weather, I bought my first set of all-season tyres since it would be pointless to buy summer and winter tyres and switch them out each season. I also have my first rear-wheel drive car, so I chose all-season tyres because they got good reviews. I can only review them in summer conditions because winter has not arrived yet. The all-season tyres have noticeably decreased my CUPRA Born handling ability from the previous tyres. When I first got the car, it was excellent at cornering because it is RWD and lower to the ground compared to most cars. Now, I don't have that same feeling of confidence when cornering. This is because it seems to lose grip so frequently that it causes the traction control or ESP to trigger. I hope they handle better in the winter because I bought the all-season tyres primarily for the seasonal changes.
