The Michelin CrossClimate 2 is an all-season tyre designed for optimum year-round performance for dry, wet, or snowy braking situations. Featuring a directional V-shaped tread with 3PMSF certification, CrossClimate 2 utilises shoulder channeling to expel water from beneath the tyre, while self-locking snow cutting slits form snow traction edges. Michelin’s innovation, Thermal Adaptive Tread, stays flexible with winter slush to optimise the snow cutting edges.

Launched in 2021, the CrossClimate 2 is the successor to the CrossClimate+. According to Michelin, the new design pattern has been optimised to evacuate 10% more water. Crimped edges on the sidewall of the CrossClimate 2 indicate snow traction which meets the requirements of winter tyre regulations and standards. I have two Michelin CrossClimate 2 tyres fitted on the driven wheels of my MX5, and they are a clear improvement on the Bridgestones that used to be on there. They provide more grip, a better ride, and peace of mind knowing they will be good in cold conditions, even under freezing temperatures. They came with very good grip and no sliding which is a great confidence booster. I can not give them a perfect 10 because Michelin have released the CrossClimate 3, which I have heard is even better. However, the CrossClimate 2s are probably going to be more affordable and still give great value for money so are a good option while they are available. Would recommend.

Do well in both rainy and dry conditions, I just haven't had the opportunity to test them in the snow.

I have been pleased with how these tyres have performed. They offer a quieter and more pleasant ride. While I have not used them in the snow, they do extremely well in colder weather. I would recommend them.
