Product description & features

The Kumho WinterCraft WP52 is a winter passenger car tyre designed primarily for draining water and slush when driving in winter conditions. It has a V-shape directional tread and maintains a low temperature solid construction. Its design is made to remove water and slush from the tread contacting the road. It also has 3D slits in the tread blocks to enhance performance in snowy conditions with a snow barrier edge and the blocks aid braking and turning.

The WP52 is an improved version of the WP51 in Kumho’s winter tyre range. It has different tread patterns and features the 3PMSF designation for the required snow grip standard. It also contains the M+S designation on the sidewall. Some specifications also use Reinforced XL construction for the winter tyre range for cars that require the higher-load marking. Tyres.co.uk has stock of Kumho WinterCraft WP52.

The tyres performed quite well in the snow, even when it began to pile up at the front, no issues this winter.

Tyre review for Kumho WP52 195/60R16 89H
I purchased these for winter highland driving, and they have been excellent on wet and snowy roads on both short journeys and long motorway drives. The label said they would be more fuel inefficient than my last set, and that is true. However, there is no difference in noise levels and the price was good.

Tyre review for Kumho WP52 195/60R16 89H
I changed out my Continental winter tyres that had 4mm of tread for Kumho WP52s on all four wheels. Their wet grip and handling in the cold are as expected. I haven't tested them on snow yet, but there are many positive reviews on YouTube for these Kumho winter tyres.

Tyre review for Kumho WP52 195/60R16 89H
The Kumhos have got me better fuel economy than the Conti WinterContact at 56.8 mpg versus 54.5 mpg. They perform well on snow-covered roads and I have no concerns about them. (I tend to drive with caution according to conditions, however) They are still a bit noisy, but after around 2,000 miles, tread wear is quite minimal and I have yet to notice any. Of course, summer tyres will be put on when the season changes.

Tyre review for Kumho WP52 195/60R16 89H
Performed excellently in slushy and icy conditions. I didn't attempt them in deep snow because my car has front wheel drive, but I'm sure they would handle new snow without any issues.

Tyre review for Kumho WP52 195/60R16 89H
These tyres offer fantastic performance when driving in winter conditions. Icy and snowy roads are a reality of my remote location, and I always feel confident driving in those conditions with these tyres, especially when it comes to gripping deep snow.
