Rolling resistance has a direct impact on fuel consumption. A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to E.
A tyre's wet grip capacity is expressed in Grades from A to E. The difference in braking distances between each grade is roughly 3m - an average car length.
The exterior noise grade of a tyre is expressed in decibels and accompanied by an external rolling noise rating - ranging from A (least exterior noise) to C (highest level of noise).
These tyres have been specifically designed for fitment and use on cars.
These are designed for improved performance at temperatures below 7°C. At this temperature the rubber in summer tyres hardens and loses performance whilst the compound of winter tyres remains supple, maintaining grip.
The Kumho WinterCraft WP52 is a winter passenger car tyre designed primarily for draining water and slush when driving in winter conditions. It has a V-shape directional tread and maintains a low temperature solid construction. Its design is made to remove water and slush from the tread contacting the road. It also has 3D slits in the tread blocks to enhance performance in snowy conditions with a snow barrier edge and the blocks aid braking and turning.
The WP52 is an improved version of the WP51 in Kumho’s winter tyre range. It has different tread patterns and features the 3PMSF designation for the required snow grip standard. It also contains the M+S designation on the sidewall. Some specifications also use Reinforced XL construction for the winter tyre range for cars that require the higher-load marking. Tyres.co.uk has stock of Kumho WinterCraft WP52.
