Kumho Solus KH16 is a summer touring tyre designed for wet road braking performance. KH16 has a high dispersion silica compound and four wide straight grooves going round the tyre which help to evacuate water from the tyre. The centre rib with pattern support gives good straight driving stability at motorway speed, plus slits on surrounding blocks give better performance in wet conditions by increasing contact patch. Also there are channels going from the centre block to outer part of pattern which help with water evacuation.
The KH16 was updated to Solus KH17 which has variable pitch block design that changes spacing around tyre reducing road noise. The KH17 is a summer design and is suitable for temperatures higher than 7 degrees, but you can still find Kumho Solus KH16 tyres at Tyres.co.uk.
